Z20Le* 470 HP V band turbo bolt on kit
Producing a full turbo kit that is reliable , fits well and delivers the power in the most brutal but also controllable way is something we have spent a long time testing, years have gone by in getting to where we are now.
We have always liked the Owen developments turbo units , outright power , response and cost all balanced out well. They provide high end turbos and we are looking for high performance boost , its natural we start with one of their own new turbo units.
The GBT turbo is the end result of thousands of hours of testing, we ourselves used the older HTA hybrid versions with excellent results. The GBT series has given Owen developments the chance to improve all the areas that needed changing for the better.
With this turbo and the right supporting parts we can make 500HP and 500 LBS of torque – this is the absolute most you can run but they will go there if you need to win ! We advertise this as a 470 rated setup as that is the number we know it can run all day long , run harder for short periods we have seen no increased fail rate, still non at all.
The manifold is a big part of the setup , having a poorly designed manifold can ruin any performance turbos character fast. This kit features the best manifold that we have known for the Z20 series engines. Supplied and manufactured in the UK by Nortech performance, these feature the best materials and best welding procedures to make an all round solid performance manifold.
Our choice of waste gate for this kit is the Turbosmart GEN V hypergate - we find that this wast gate with the water cooling plumbed in makes for the most reliable consistent boost for the pricing.
The downpipe exhaust system is also manufactured by Nortech Performance , these are full 76mm diameter mandrel bent system components with a very high grade flexi joint. These again will cope with 600HP on the right turbo setup !
Hardware and fixings , this is a collection of many kit parts that we have made up. Every component has been selected tested , revised in some cases and this is the end result . A collection of parts that work perfectly together.
In this kit there is everything you require to physically install a full turbo kit to your car. Your exhaust system may need some minor alterations , we also sell extension pipes which will slip fit into a piper exhaust system.
The inlet system is designed to be run without the AFM sensor – not all tuners are happy to do this on the stock ecu so please contact your tuner in advance of buying this kit. If its ourselves then we believe that removing the AFM at this kind of power is the best way . If you are planning on running a standalone ecu then this turbo kit again has everything you need to fit the whole kit
This is a serious turbo kit , it will produce serious power with the right supporting parts . These are the minimum recommended parts that we would suggest to run this kind of power

To run more along the line of the 500LBS and 500 HP then the cylinder head must be ported out , on the stock camshafts then this setup will make around the 460 HP and 400 LBS of torque without being too stressed. All round this kit is the perfect choice in most instances , a lot of people probably buy a bigger turbo thinking its necessary when really a more responsive but still potent unit is faster overall.
