Corsa VXR z16/16 240mm Clutch Conversion Flywheel 

With the Z16 not making as much torque as its bigger z20 brother , this means it is more than safe to run a clutch designed for the z20 ! 

This is the way we do it and it has always proved well in the long run. 

For most of the hybrid builds we do , we will run this with the standard Astra VXR type clutch - this easily copes with 300HP as it does on the Astra VXR. 

After that kind of power , we then tend to opt for the Helix 4 Paddle . This will take you towards the 400+ Hp region , aiming for higher then you may want to consider something rated at higher RPMS - Contact us for details on our billet clutch kits for 500HP + 

Quite simply the best clutch and flywheel setup available for the z16/a16 engines

This clutch setup has been designed to work with the standard type slave cylinder , it will also work with the standard type flywheel bolts too although we would recommend using our upgrade ARP bolts.

Being able to control both the clutch dimensions and flywheel has abled the development of a better all round package. In the past flywheels were just made for available clutches , often these clutches were based around the stock clutch basket system with some upgrades where possible .

This setup features a fully machined basket front cover – the whole thing has been machined out of a solid lump. Much better suited to being an uprated performance clutch it has had every area addressed,

High tensile clutch cove bolts including anti rattle washers

This clutch has been developed to feel and perform well, using the longer clutch fingers than you would typically find on this type of clutch means that the slave cylinder sees a similar release load. Its a little bit firmer under foot , less firm than the current solutions and there for less strain is put back into the engine thrust bearing.

This setup will hold 400+ LBS of torque and will easily cope with 500 HP on the 1600CC engine should you need it too . This is the clutch and flywheel that we now use in all our engine builds for the Z16 , A16 and B 16 engines too.


 

Wössner Z16 turbo Forged Pistons

Wössner are regarded by Europe’s leading motor sport engine builders as being the piston of choice when building an engine not only to perform, but to withstand the stresses and duress’s of competition life.

Wössner pistons feature a unique Moly coating on the skirts and a grade of 4032 Alloy (T6) which allows the engine builder to run a closer piston to bore tolerance then he might do on another make of piston.

This helps remove the slapping noise during cold start, common place among engines running forged pistons due to larger then OE bore clearances.

The crowns of the pistons are also mirror polished to better resist detonation on a high performance engine. Mirror polishing allows a more even spread of heat inside the chamber which will help prevent “hot spots” on piston crowns. Price includes all piston rings and gudgeon pins.

Upgrade Cam Cap Bolt kit

High tensile flange headed upgrade bolts for z20le* cylinder head cam caps

Most upgrade cam manufacturers recommend the use of upgraded bolts, not many actually know what to use – we use these every time we take the cams out of an engine , we have tested these bolts in the hundreds and we are finally happy to say they are fit for use.

We find that torquing these bolts into 10NM works well , always make sure the threads are clean, lightly lubricate the bolts with light oil before install.

These upgrade bolts require no modification to the cylinder head for install , they are a direct fit . They can be used if simply rebuilding the engine with standard cams or with our largest off the shelf performance cams.

             The fuel rail extrusion is already in the UK so you will not have to wait weeks for import                     

Astra BTCC 368mm 6 piston Brake Kit

If you are looking for some serious track focused stopping power then these are about as good as it gets – these are the same part numbers that the BTCC guys are using and everything has been adjusted to suit it fitting to an Astra !

We came up with some custom brackets and some custom floating bells to suit the rotors, packing the disc as far as we could into the wheel arch , leaving as much wheel clearance as we could.

The rotor bells have some material machined away to encourage some air to the far side of the disc – this will provide better over all cooling. These use the AP racing forged type hardware pack , it is fixed in the bell and floats in the disc meaning this area is swapped out and refreshed when you eventually need to change the rotors.

Why supply used parts in a new kit ? Well its a cost thing !!

As you start to get into track days you start to notice how the consumables go up and up , pads and rotors being one thing for sure . Typically a new set of the pads supplied in this kit will be over £600 + vat for the pads alone , we account for about £150 in this kit. The rotors , in particular the newest S vane rotors are over £600 each side , we account for about £250 per pair in this kit – replacing these parts cheaply means you really can take the sting out of running costs , running such an insane kit will also make them last much longer for more normal track use . The rest of the parts make up the cost quite quickly – the calipers are at the top end of what AP deliver , full stainless pistons with staggered sizes in a LH / RH configuration. This kit has the best brake feel that you can put into an Astra , with a decent set of brake ducts it would take a special kind of hero to overheat these :)

The calipers are to suit the extra thick pads , the rotors are the larger 36mm endurance versions- even though the pads are used they will still be far thicker than any road type pad as again these are the endurance spec thickness.

This kit could be made to fit the Corsa D also – we have not done it yet but if you were seriously interested we could make it happen !
