Z20 X-Beam Connecting Rods from FCP

 

Forged from 4340 Chrome Moly Steel, fully machined, shot peened, and then precision honed to size, FCP Engineerings forged rods are designed for the most arduous use in today's high performance engines.

Rated to 800hp and 9000rpm, these rods are the finest quality you will find in this price range.

They come ready to go with ARP 2000 high strength rod bolts.

BLACK NITRIDE:
This is a hardening treatment that even though it is not widely used as the chrome coating, it has several benefits and is becoming very popular, mainly for European and Japanese applications.
 

The microhardness is higher than the stainless steel base material, keeping good ductility beneath the hard nitrided layer (microhardness is 800HV minimum).
Surface finish is smoother than with chromed stems, having less friction between stem and guide.
 

Valve seat surface is harder with the nitrided layer, lasting longer with lead free fuels, alcohols, nitro or other "explosive" mixes. Matches any kind of seats (nodular iron seats, steel powder metal seats, hard aluminum-copper seats or beryllium copper seats).
 

Higher rpm's engines take full advantage of all previous features. The higher the engine speed the bigger the power loss due to internal engine friction! The black nitride layer reduces this power loss due to less valve-guide  friction.
 

The nitrided layer is adhered to the base material at a microscopic level, so does not "flake" or break when the valves bend due to impacts with the pistons.
 

The Black Nitride applies to the whole valve while the chrome coating is only applied to the stem.
 

All valves are swirl polished, have stem undercut and a hardened tip.

Corsa C Pillow Ball Top Mounts

 

These Top Mounts replace the large rubber mounting that is on top of your front struts. Instead of being rubber, they are solid aluminium bearing housings that encase a high precision, maintenance free, spherical bearing.

 

Working in the very limited space of the Corsa strut towers, they are designed to push up inside the strut tower, like the originals, and then clamp in place via a locking ring. The locking ring also features locking screws to physically prevent it from unwinding. 

 

Early on in our quest perfecting the Astra G, we noticed problems with the standard top mounts, as they were sat about 10mm proud in the engine bay. No way were the upper mounts staying in one place! Using the same mounts as the Astra, the Corsa C suffers this problem and can utilise the same solution.

 

We set about designing and made some prototypes, fitting them to our test car. With a few tweeks we had some nice pillow ball type units. We are now onto the 3rd revision, featuring larger bearings for added strength and longevity.

 

This, along with our spherical front wishbones, allows the wheel to retain it's set geometry whilst enduring any loads, such as cornering, braking, or during acceleration. During cornering it stops the front wheel "flopping" over into positive camber and reducing its contact area with the road. You can run less static front camber with these fitted than you had to with the originals to keep the tyre temperatures uniform, due to the lack of movement.

 

We have developed them to fit the standard damper / strut top. Any aftermarket dampers that use the original rubber strut top and bearing assembly should work with these, we have had them fitted to Gaz / Bilstein coilovers for example.

 

If you find that they do not fit your specific set up, we would love to help you make them do so. They are fairly universal, so usually it would just mean some different spacers. Getting them to fit will allow us to expand our list of known fitments, so we don't mind at all. We will fully refund you if we cannot make them fit any damper that uses the original top mount, provided you send them back undamaged.

 

Designed for competition use, professional installation recommended.

They can be adjusted in length to take out any twist in your anti roll bar or its mountings, ideal during corner weighting.

Full cover dust boots stop the usual rapid wear of the rod ends, which are easily and cheaply replaceable when they do eventually go. We supply spares, but any similar rod ends can be used, they are a standard size.

Also much less flexible than the standard item so tighten up the front end nicely, enabling a more rapid turn in and a more crisp response at the limit.

This kit consists of all you should need to rejuvenate your RnD Droplinks.

Through general wear and tear the spherical bearings inside our droplink rod ends will eventually start to fail. Instead of having to replace the whole droplink (which would normally be the case with standard parts) only the rod ends need to be replaced to make your droplinks perform again like new.

 When replacing rod ends it is essential to include a new set of rubber dust boots, as they take a lot of punishment protecting the rod end bearings from the elements, this should ensure you get the most out of your new bearings.

Z20Le* 470 HP V band turbo bolt on kit

 

Producing a full turbo kit that is reliable , fits well and delivers the power in the most brutal but also controllable way is something we have spent a long time testing, years have gone by in getting to where we are now.

We have always liked the Owen developments turbo units , outright power , response and cost all balanced out well. They provide high end turbos and we are looking for high performance boost , its natural we start with one of their own new turbo units.

The GBT turbo is the end result of thousands of hours of testing, we ourselves used the older HTA hybrid versions with excellent results. The GBT series has given Owen developments the chance to improve all the areas that needed changing for the better.

With this turbo and the right supporting parts we can make 500HP and 500 LBS of torque – this is the absolute most you can run but they will go there if you need to win ! We advertise this as a 470 rated setup as that is the number we know it can run all day long , run harder for short periods we have seen no increased fail rate, still non at all.

 

The manifold is a big part of the setup , having a poorly designed manifold can ruin any performance turbos character fast. This kit features the best manifold that we have known for the Z20 series engines. Supplied and manufactured in the UK by Nortech performance, these feature the best materials and best welding procedures to make an all round solid performance manifold.

Our choice of waste gate for this kit is the Turbosmart GEN V hypergate - we find that this wast gate with the water cooling plumbed in makes for the most reliable consistent boost for the pricing.

The downpipe exhaust system is also manufactured by Nortech Performance , these are full 76mm diameter mandrel bent system components with a very high grade flexi joint. These again will cope with 600HP on the right turbo setup !

 

Hardware and fixings , this is a collection of many kit parts that we have made up. Every component has been selected tested , revised in some cases and this is the end result . A collection of parts that work perfectly together.

In this kit there is everything you require to physically install a full turbo kit to your car. Your exhaust system may need some minor alterations , we also sell extension pipes which will slip fit into a piper exhaust system.

 

The inlet system is designed to be run without the AFM sensor – not all tuners are happy to do this on the stock ecu so please contact your tuner in advance of buying this kit. If its ourselves then we believe that removing the AFM at this kind of power is the best way . If you are planning on running a standalone ecu then this turbo kit again has everything you need to fit the whole kit

To run more along the line of the 500LBS and 500 HP then the cylinder head must be ported out , on the stock camshafts then this setup will make around the 460 HP and 400 LBS of torque without being too stressed. All round this kit is the perfect choice in most instances , a lot of people probably buy a bigger turbo thinking its necessary when really a more responsive but still potent unit is faster overall.
